Portfolio Manager Associate - FI

Overview

In this role you will execute buy/sell orders for municipal and corporate bonds within duration-targeted strategies, contributing to primary and secondary markets. You'll support portfolio construction discussions with PM teams and help translate trading requirements into practical solutions using data tools. The position emphasizes compliant trade processing, market analysis, and collaboration with research and investment teams to reflect CNB Rochdale's strategy in client portfolios. You will engage in process improvements and technology-enabled trading workflows to drive efficiency and impact.

Responsibilities
  • Execute trades aligned with client and strategy objectives for new and existing accounts
  • Use Python, R or similar tools to analyze data, write scripts, and translate requirements into solutions
  • Review orders for accuracy, record-keeping, and regulatory conformance
  • Assess market volatility to secure best available rates for clients
  • Follow up to ensure proper trade processing and settlement
  • Monitor trading trends and report insights to the fixed income team
  • Interface with research and investment teams to ensure strategy reflection in portfolios
  • Communicate market conditions and strategies to internal colleagues, especially PM teams
  • Review passive strategy assets to ensure alignment with client intent
  • Manage cash flow, reinvestment and liquidity needs
  • Maintain compliance and ongoing education requirements
  • Participate in efforts to improve processes via technology and digital mastery
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in fixed income markets
  • Strong technology background and agility
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and emotional intelligence
  • Ability to collaborate across quantitative and portfolio management functions
  • Curiosity, ownership, accountability and ethical standards
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and MarketAxess
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of economy and market conditions
  • Experience with securities trading and trading platforms
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork
  • Ability to articulate investment philosophy to internal constituents
