Overview You lead the internal product organization that designs and operates the paved road for software delivery, enabling rapid, secure, and auditable engineering outcomes. You'll own platform strategy, roadmaps, and adoption, acting as a technical authority to align engineering velocity with compliance. This role focuses on building scalable platform capabilities, standardizing tooling, and driving measurable delivery outcomes across the firm. It's a hands-on leadership position for a principal-level engineer who shapes the future of how teams build and ship software at scale.

Responsibilities- Own DPX strategy, roadmap and delivery; set platform SLOs and treat DPX as a Tier 1 production service
- Design golden paths with pre-approved templates including observability, secrets management, security scanning, artefact provenance, and event-streaming integration
- Define and operate enterprise CI/CD and release automation; consolidate fragmented pipelines
- Stand up and run internal developer portal (service catalogue, scaffolding, golden-path discovery, documentation)
- Co-chair Technology Standards Board and own engineering recommendations including languages, tooling, CI/CD, testing and cryptographic-library standards
- Author and maintain Technology Radar and retire end-of-life technologies; manage waivers with transparency
- Work within governance with Enterprise Architecture on standards and architectural change routes
- Jointly own Secure SDLC and Common Core engineering capability with CISO; oversee pipeline security, SBOM, and artefact provenance
- Build shared multi-language core libraries and abstraction layers for secure, reliable applications
- Establish AI-assisted development tooling with security guardrails in coordination with Data & AI organization
- Build and lead a high-caliber platform organization; instill product-management and agile disciplines
- Earn adoption from BU engineering leaders by delivering value, not mandates
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Compute Platforms, Cloud Platforms, Production Engineering, Data & AI
- Represent DPX and its business case to CTO/CIO with adoption economics, risk reduction and consolidation savings
Key requirements- Extensive hands-on engineering career culminating in principal engineer or senior platform leadership
- Proven track record building and operating developer platforms, internal portals, or platform-engineering functions at enterprise scale
- Deep expertise across CI/CD, container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift), IaC, artefact management, progressive delivery
- Strong command of secure SDLC practices (SAST/DAST/SCA, secrets management, artefact signing/provenance, SBOM) and partnerships with security leadership
- Fluency in distributed systems and hybrid cloud/on-prem compute in regulated environments
- Demonstrated product-management and agile discipline applied to internal platforms (SLOs, roadmaps, adoption prioritization)
- Track record earning engineering adoption through influence in a large federated organization
- Executive presence to shape technical standards and defend investment cases to senior leadership
