Overview In this role you will lead the development and launch of consumer-facing web apps and the BFF layer, shaping scalable, high-quality software. You'll drive architecture decisions, ship iteratively, and set engineering standards across the stack. You'll own end-to-end delivery from discovery to post-release iteration, building performant React/Next.js UIs and robust APIs, while ensuring observability, security, and reliability at scale. Responsibilities- Lead development and launch of consumer-facing web applications and BFF/services layer.
- Make architecture decisions and set engineering quality bars across the stack.
- Own end-to-end delivery from discovery to post-release iteration for major web features.
- Build performant React/Next.js + TypeScript UIs with SSR/SSG as appropriate.
- Design and implement REST/GraphQL APIs and BFF services with clear contracts and versioning.
- Ensure performance, security, reliability, and observability at scale (Core Web Vitals, caching, logging, tracing).
- Mentor engineers, review designs/code, and collaborate with Product/Design for incremental releases.
Key requirements- 10+ years building and operating production web applications/services.
- 3+ years leading technical delivery and/or architecture.
- Strong programming in TypeScript/JavaScript and backend stacks (Node.js or Java).
- Hands-on with React, Next.js, automated testing, and CI/CD; proficient with Docker and a major cloud (AWS preferred).
- Solid data skills: relational and NoSQL stores, caching (Redis), messaging, and performance optimization.
