Job description

Overview

In this role you will manage and grow a profitable book within the Staffing/Healthcare Vertical by rigorous risk analysis, pricing, and service. You will operate under approved authority, ensuring compliance with underwriting and pricing standards while partnering with the vertical team to meet strategic goals. You'll train staff and clients on underwriting appetite, foster external relationships, and contribute to industry events. This position supports AmTrust's mission by delivering timely, professional service and maintaining strong market knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a profitable book through risk assessment, pricing, and high-quality service
  • Ensure compliance with state filings and corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines
  • Operate within authorized authority and escalate to Vertical Management as needed
  • Collaborate with vertical team to implement the vertical business plan and share accountability for goals
  • Train vertical staff and clients on underwriting guidelines and appetite in line with corporate guidelines
  • Coach and engage with agents, producers, and organizations to strengthen client relationships across the territory
  • Represent the company at industry events and advocate for the vertical program
  • Provide timely, clear communication to clients and cross-department staff to resolve policyholder issues
  • Support data collection, reporting, and market intelligence in collaboration with the vertical team
  • Stay current on market trends and demands to inform pricing and risk selection
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • CPCU or CIC designation preferred or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within the territory and to the home office
  • Expert technical knowledge of workers compensation coverage, risk selection, methods, and pricing
  • Ability to interpret data and make informed risk decisions
