Overview

In this role you guide the technical direction of the Power Test Lab, ensuring robust designs and standard compliance. You lead testing activities at the Franksville, WI labs and drive continuous improvement of testing capabilities and safety. You partner with product development to influence design direction and maximize the lab's value to Eaton. This is a hands-on leadership role with opportunities to shape testing strategy and team growth. You will work in a cross-functional environment to deliver reliable, standards-aligned test outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a small, mixed-experience team, developing capabilities and mentoring staff
  • Provide day-to-day technical direction for testing activities
  • Perform hands-on MV electrical testing of varying complexity
  • Review and develop test methods and procedures to ensure repeatable practices
  • Design and set up test circuits, instrumentation, and controls; execute tests and report results
  • Assess and approve testing approaches and equipment setups
  • Support standardized and unique tests on high voltage, high power, and thermal equipment
  • Execute planned projects and adapt to unplanned changes
  • Contribute to testing strategy by advocating resource strategies and new equipment
  • Ensure IEC/ISO 17025 and A2LA compliance; improve PTL and site safety
  • Collaborate with product development to advise on design direction and ensure robustness
  • Lead site safety initiatives as MESH Champion
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in electrical testing and/or design of medium/high voltage products
  • Sponsorship prohibition for visa/work authorization (no CPT/OPT/STEM OPT/H-1B etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Mentoring and leadership
  • Collaboration and cross-functional teamwork
  • Electrical testing of MV systems (AC/DC, impulse, power/short-circuit, thermal)
  • Design and setup of test circuits, instrumentation, and controls
  • Lab automation software and electrical system modeling
