Overview In this role you lead maintenance and engineering across multiple plants, enhancing reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant infrastructure and production systems. You will partner with Operations, Quality, EHS, and Corporate Engineering to support growth, uptime, and asset sustainability. You'll oversee process controls, automation, and capital projects, driving standardization and risk management. This position offers impact through safety culture, technology upgrades, and cross-functional collaboration.
Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across equipment, utilities, and building systems
- Ensure uptime meets production goals through planning and resource prioritization
- Oversee maintenance work orders, PM optimization, spare parts strategy, and contractor management
- Maintain regulatory compliance for facilities, safety systems, and utilities
- Develop the process controls engineering team to support automation, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, instrumentation, and data collection
- Drive system standardization, controls upgrades, cybersecurity, and automation improvements
- Troubleshoot complex controls issues and conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures
- Oversee project engineering for plant capital projects: planning, design, and execution
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communication aligned with plant strategy
- Ensure projects meet engineering standards, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements
- Lead technical reviews, contractor coordination, and commissioning/startup activities
- Build the maintenance and engineering team through coaching, succession planning, and performance management
- Champion safety culture, housekeeping, and adherence to plant procedures
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering; or equivalent technical discipline
- 7+ years in engineering, maintenance, or project management in manufacturing
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams or complex technical functions
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance systems, automation controls, and capital project management
- Expertise in reliability improvements and system uptime
- Experience in paint, chemical, or batch manufacturing operations
- Professional certifications (PE, PMP, CMRP, Six Sigma/Lean)
- Experience with CMMS systems, controls platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and process safety management
- Experience leading major capital projects or plant transformations
- Experience supporting growth via capacity increases, new product introductions, or technology upgrades
