Overview

As a Payroll Specialist I, you support payroll processing, policy adherence, and inquiries with empathy. You'll assist weekly and off-cycle payrolls, ensure data accuracy in Workday, and participate in audits. You help the team manage time entry, deductions, and tax reporting while upholding confidentiality. Responsibilities
  • Provide responsive payroll support to teammates, researching pay discrepancies and delivering accurate information in Workday
  • Assist with weekly and off-cycle payroll processing for new hires, terminations and changes
  • Coach leaders on time entry and payroll processes to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee personal data in Workday
  • Process deductions, garnishments, banking details, and other statutory requirements
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and audits per established procedures
  • Collaborate with HR, managers, and other departments to resolve payroll issues
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and payroll procedures
  • Support year-end payroll activities and tax reporting
  • Support payroll timelines with flexibility for weekend or after-hours processing
Key requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years of payroll, accounting, administrative, or related experience
  • Experience supporting multi-state and Canadian payroll operations preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential payroll information with discretion
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with audits and validations
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications
  • Ability to learn and navigate Workday Payroll system
  • Ability to meet weekend or after-hours commitments
