Staff Civil Engineer - Projects

As Staff Civil Engineer at Disney's Architecture & Facilities Engineering team, you will lead design, documentation, and sustainment of underground utilities, drainage, and foundational systems across the Disneyland Resort. You'll act as Owner's Representative and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver codes-compliant, constructible solutions for shops, rides, hotels, and other facilities. You will develop bid-level documents, support RFPs, and guide long-term maintainability and efficiency. This role offers impact through shaping essential infrastructure at a world-class destination.

• Act as Owner's Representative from concept through construction for diverse projects at the Disneyland Resort
• Manage design and development of contract documents with in-house and external resources
• Develop concepts and RFPs, participate in site visits, and problem-solve design issues
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards across drawings and specs
• Provide civil resources for scope development, planning, and code compliance
• Coordinate with disciplines, enforce design guidelines and master specifications
• Review design for constructability, efficiency, and maintainability
• Research and validate as-built records, perform field investigations, and review shop drawings
• Lead system modeling of underground utilities and coordinate field installations
• Prepare plans for grading, drainage, water/sewer distribution, and utilities
• Support water quality management and stormwater plans
• Participate in design coordination meetings and prioritize items to minimize schedule impacts
• Act as Design Manager to resolve compliance issues and verify item specifications

• 10+ years in civil engineering design including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater, erosion control
• Experience with design, procurement, and construction support
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D), Revit, Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu
• Effective verbal and written communication with clients and teams
• Self-starting, collaborative, and capable of turning concepts into physical solutions
• Working knowledge of standards and codes for civil utility systems
• Professional Engineer registration in the State of California
