Overview In this role, you will develop and optimize naval electrical power systems within the Gun Weapon System program. You'll work on-site at NSWC Dahlgren to enable ship self-defense through robust power architectures and efficient distribution. You will lead design decisions, coordinate with system owners, and address obsolescence and field modifications to keep systems reliable. This position offers meaningful impact on naval warfare capabilities and cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams. You will apply advanced power analysis to improve mission readiness and performance.

Responsibilities- Develop and maintain system power budgets and allocation strategies
- Ensure adequate power availability and margin across operational modes
- Define power distribution architectures and electrical interfaces
- Support requirements development, design, integration, test, certification, and fielding
- Analyze system power consumption and identify efficiency improvements
- Resolve power-related issues during development, integration, and operation
- Coordinate with subsystem owners on compliance with power allocations
- Provide technical leadership for power distribution design decisions and trade studies
- Assess impacts from design changes, obsolescence, and field modifications
Key requirements- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience with increasing responsibility
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; or STEM 4-year degree or higher
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience with military, aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical systems
- Prior USN (military or civilian) experience desired
- Experience with AEGIS combat system interfaces or similar SoS weapons systems desired
- Experience working with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
