Overview

In this role you lead mechanical construction across multiple sites, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget targets. You supervise journeymen and labor crews in field environments, coordinating with project teams to resolve issues and maintain quality. You navigate union relations, analytics, and logistics to keep projects on track. Your work connects hands-on field execution with safety leadership and cross-site collaboration, delivering reliable mechanical installations at scale. Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day supervision for mechanical crews across multiple sites
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate installation work while managing travel and accommodations
  • Enforce safety policies, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct site safety meetings and correct unsafe conditions
  • Interpret drawings/specifications and coordinate with PMs, general contractors, and engineering teams
  • Ensure CBA compliance, manage union relations, and coordinate work rules and jurisdiction
  • Monitor workmanship quality, perform inspections, and implement corrective actions
  • Manage field documentation: daily reports, manpower tracking, timekeeping, change orders, submittals
  • Control labor productivity and costs through supervision and resource allocation
  • Mentor crew members and provide on-the-job training for journeymen and apprentices
  • Coordinate rigging, lifting, and equipment needs with proper permits and certifications
Key requirements
  • 7+ years in mechanical construction with at least 3 years in superintendent/lead role
  • Journeyman ticket or equivalent (pipefitter, plumber, HVAC, or related)
  • Knowledge of CBA requirements and experience with union labor on site
  • Current OSHA 30 certification and strong OSHA knowledge
  • Experience with mechanical systems installation (piping, pumps, HVAC, pressure piping, rotating equipment)
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills for coordinating across stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work extended hours; valid driver's license
  • Proficiency with project documentation, scheduling tools, and basic computer skills
