Overview

As Principal Engineer, Mechanical in Houston, you lead the mechanical design and project execution for LNG cryogenic facilities. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine scope, estimate costs, and develop design specifications, while guiding third-party managers and on-site construction activities. You focus on reliability, operability, and cost efficiency to sustain Venture Global's competitive advantage. This in-office role offers exposure to high-impact projects that shape scalable, low-cost LNG infrastructure. You will drive schedules, technical quality, and adoption of industry standards within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering design, scope refinement, and cost estimation; develop project design specifications and support construction
  • Oversee third-party project managers, engineers, construction managers, inspectors, and contractors
  • Influence decisions to improve reliability, operability, and reduce operating costs
  • Translate project plans into credible project schedules
  • Specify equipment and major materials for procurement
  • Provide field construction assistance
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory codes, and company standards
  • Serve as single point of accountability for technical execution to meet objectives
  • Ensure overall project technical quality and conformance to plan (scope, budget, schedule)
  • Support Change Management, Value Improvement Practices, Bid Evaluations, and Process and Implementation studies
Key requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Minimum 12 years combined experience in Design, Commissioning, or Operations of Cryogenic Processes
  • Minimum 5 years multi-discipline engineering management experience
  • Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities highly preferred
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines; adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to mentor others in planning, scheduling, and engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, C&Es, One Line Diagrams, Isometrics, and Civil/Structural drawings
  • Broad knowledge of codes, standards, and industry best practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel
