Overview

As a Packaging Engineer at Philips, you will drive packaging execution projects within the Project Management Team to support timely product launches. You will develop packaging concepts aligned with platform and marketing inputs, ensure designs meet manufacturing, quality, sustainability, and cost targets, and coordinate testing and documentation. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver attractive, compliant, and scalable packaging structures. This role offers impact in shaping packaging for Oral Healthcare at a global scale and participating in sustainability and compliance efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Manage packaging execution projects with cross-functional teams to enable on-time launches
  • Develop structural packaging concepts and designs per Philips platform and marketing inputs
  • Optimize packaging for manufacturing, assembly, quality, and cost requirements
  • Oversee packaging design process to meet customer attractiveness, quality, and sustainability criteria
  • Create specifications for packaging (pulp trays, folding cartons, corrugated boxes, pallet layouts)
  • Coordinate packaging testing with System Engineers and Product Quality Engineers per shipping standards
  • Determine logistics parameters (weights, dimensions, material content) for new packaging structures
  • Provide inputs to maintain packaging sustainability and substance compliance
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to develop packaging structures that meet project needs
  • Produce in-depth documentation for packaging design reviews at milestones
Key requirements
  • 3+ years in design/manufacturing of paperboard and corrugate structures, thermoformed blister, pulp trays, flexible plastic/paper bags
  • Working knowledge of ArtiosCAD, CAPE Pack, Adobe Illustrator, Solidworks/CREO
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
