Overview In this role you will support data center and mission-critical facilities by leading civil site design and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams. You'll drive early planning, permitting, and construction document development, shaping site layouts and utilities to enable reliable, scalable infrastructure. The position offers collaboration across engineering disciplines within HDR's employee-owned culture, with opportunities to mentor staff and influence major programs. You will work on impactful projects that advance critical infrastructure while delivering high-quality civil designs.
Responsibilities- Conduct early project development activities including site selection, due diligence, and site planning
- Design and plan production for general civil on mission-critical projects (site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities)
- Conduct quantity calculations
- Perform permitting submittals to authorities having jurisdiction
- Serve as a technical expert to resolve complex problems as needed
- Plan and develop projects with significant impact on major company programs
- Plan, organize and supervise work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians
- Oversee work of other professionals and technicians
- Prepare/Review civil engineering scope of work and budgets/estimates for proposals
- Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Previous experience in general civil engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good verbal and written communication skills
