Overview

As Electrical Project Engineer, you lead electrical design within a multi-discipline team for Buildings, Energy and Infrastructure projects. You act as the Engineer of Record and interface with clients, delivering design and construction drawings, specifications, and assessments. You'll use REVIT and AutoCAD to produce plans, supervise junior staff, and ensure work stays on budget and schedule. Your work supports healthcare, higher education, government, and other facilities, advancing sustainable, compliant electrical systems. This role offers hands-on impact and collaboration across disciplines in a reputable, growth minded firm.

Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design across projects and serve as Engineer of Record
  • Produce design/construction drawings and specifications; oversee electrical design work
  • Act as primary client interface for electrical matters
  • Evaluate electrical equipment, lighting, fire alarm, and specialty systems; perform design computations
  • Create and review design/construction drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD
  • Monitor construction progress and assess existing facility electrical systems
  • Deliver tasks on budget and on schedule; mentor subordinate staff
  • Coordinate designs and prepare reports with other disciplines; communicate with client organizations
  • Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations
  • Develop new work and clients for electrical design services in target facilities
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (electrical focus) from ABET-accredited university
  • 4 years of relevant facilities experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer in NC (NCEES)
  • Strong organization, technical, and communication skills
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
  • Strong NEC knowledge aligned with experience
  • Experience with Autodesk REVIT; AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Leadership experience with subordinate staff
  • High precision and methodical work approach
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
