Overview

In this role you drive long-term supplier development, tool life-cycle management, and risk mitigation for critical plastic injection molded components. You lead cross-functional tool-qualification programs from concept to production, aligning suppliers with growth and cost-saving goals. You establish governance standards and optimize tooling portfolios to strengthen supply chain resilience and quality. You collaborate with internal and external partners to enable smooth new product introductions and sustainable improvements. This is a pivotal role for shaping tooling strategy at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute a 3-year plastics tooling roadmap to strengthen global supply chain resilience and tooling optimization
  • Develop CapEx Justifications, ROI models, and business cases to secure leadership approval for tooling investments
  • Program-manage cost-saving initiatives and standardize processes across the supplier network
  • Lead end-to-end tooling transfers and equipment deployments across internal and external sites
  • Govern qualification lifecycles for strategic new suppliers and materials, aligning with product launch timelines
  • Design and implement unified supplier governance and quality alignment with internal systems
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with global injection molding suppliers to embed lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Oversee supplier risk mitigation and drive root cause analyses and corrective actions for Tier-1 issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in injection molding process, tooling development, project management and cost-saving strategies in a lean environment
  • Direct involvement in qualifying tooling during molding processes
  • Experience with multi-cavity hot runner/cold runner tooling on 100-400 ton machines
  • Injection molding tooling development
  • CapEx management and ROI modeling
  • Tooling transfer and NPI management
  • Supplier governance and quality alignment
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action
