Overview

In this role you will support the Engineering Lead and Product Engineering Manager to oversee mechanical and piping scope for large-scale data center modules. You'll ensure drawings, designs, and documentation meet industry codes, safety standards, and client specs while enabling efficient manufacturing and site deployment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams during design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning, addressing issues that affect reliability and performance. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with exposure to cutting-edge data center infrastructure solutions and a clear impact on project success and safety. Responsibilities
  • Check and approve drawings and documentation to meet standards and client specs
  • Review engineering work for accuracy and conformance to codes and procedures
  • Participate in design and development planning meetings
  • Prepare mechanical deliverables such as valve lists, piping line lists, stress studies, and MTOs/BOMs
  • Review vendor quotations and provide feedback to procurement
  • Develop and check Design Basis documents and pipe stress analyses
  • Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs, and assist with commissioning
  • Interface with clients and stakeholders as primary technical contact
  • Supervise piping engineering outsourcing when needed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data center technologies and propose improvements
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related, see note)
  • 3-10 years in mechanical design/engineering focused on data centers
  • Ability to produce drawings and sketches
  • Familiarity with piping, fire suppression, and data center mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, NFPA, IBC, etc.)
  • Experience with CAD/BIM software (CAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) and piping design tools
  • Experience with CAESAR II, NozzlePro, FEPipe, and related software
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Legal to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Professional Engineering License preferred
