Overview In this AP Supervisor role, you will oversee daily accounts payable activities and ensure timely, accurate processing according to policy and contract requirements. You'll lead and develop the AP team while supporting month-end close, audits, and process improvements. You'll collaborate with project teams and cross-functional partners to maintain strong controls and accurate financial reporting, contributing to PCL's employee-owned culture and growth mindset.

Responsibilities- Supervise daily AP activities: vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, expense reimbursements, payment runs
- Ensure AP transactions are accurate and timely per policies and contracts
- Coach and develop AP staff, manage workload, provide feedback
- Resolve discrepancies and vendor inquiries promptly
- Support month-end/year-end close, including accruals and reconciliations
- Maintain internal controls and segregation of duties; participate in audits
- Identify and implement AP process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with project teams, procurement, treasury, payroll, and accounting leadership
Key requirements- Several years of progressive experience in accounts payable or accounting
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Construction or project-based accounting experience is an asset
- Strong understanding of AP processes, job cost accounting, and GL concepts
- Knowledge of internal controls and audit standards
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial/accounting systems
