Overview

As an Architect/Senior Architect at DLR Group, you lead design teams on Justice + Civic projects, aligning design intent with schedules, budgets, and performance goals. You collaborate across disciplines to deliver high-quality documentation and innovative solutions, while guiding project managers on financial health and project outcomes. This role offers ownership in an employee-owned firm and the chance to shape public-sector design at scale. You will mentor staff, drive design excellence, and ensure BIM and QA/QC standards are applied.

Responsibilities
  • Align design intent with schedules, budgets, and profitability targets
  • Mentor and lead teams to deliver high-quality documentation and innovative design
  • Maintain clear communication with Project Manager and design team
  • Develop technically sound solutions to design challenges
  • Coordinate drawings, specifications, and documentation with the project team
  • Lead collaboration within project teams and generate innovative design ideas
  • Apply advanced architectural concepts to complex assignments
  • Integrate QA/QC procedures into deliverables and resolve issues
  • Ensure BIM standards are applied and coordinate with BIM Manager
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced staff
  • Meet deliverable deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Participate in client presentations and contribute to project outcomes
Key requirements
  • Undergraduate Degree in Architecture; professional licensure
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in a commercial firm
  • At least 4 years designing Public Sector, Institutional, Civic, Public Safety, or Justice buildings
  • Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and other standard architecture software
  • Ability to lead sustainable design principles in technical plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active participation in professional organizations and involvement in marketing/business development
