Overview

Senior Consultant in Deloitte Tax's Gi3 Sustainability practice supports clients with federal C&I programs and ESG-related initiatives. You will analyze and document opportunities under IRC sections such as 45Q, 48, 45D, and more, helping decarbonization and ESG goals scale across industries. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value, develop process improvements, and monitor evolving legislation. This role offers exposure to high-impact sustainability work with a fast-growing team and a broad client base.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on federal C&I programs related to sustainability and ESG and document eligibility efforts
  • Manage and deliver engagement workstreams with quality and timeliness
  • Monitor current and proposed tax legislation in sustainability/ESG areas and communicate opportunities
  • Collaborate with Advisory and Consulting teams on studies (valuation, tax equity modeling, LCA) and deliver client-ready outputs
  • Identify issues and propose practical solutions; drive process improvements
  • Develop client outreach strategies and maintain strong internal/external relationships
  • Prepare engagement deliverables (decks, summaries, calculations, forms) and respond to IRS inquiries
  • Support internal initiatives and special tax projects
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to perform benefit calculations and ensure accurate deliverables
  • Track opportunities and communicate impact to leadership
Key requirements
  • Hybrid work model requiring 2-3 days in person
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Bachelor in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or related field
  • 3+ years' related experience
  • Strong analytical, research, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Travel up to 25% depending on client needs
  • Professional accreditations: CPA, Attorney, Enrolled Agent, PMP, CFA, PE, or GRI (in process or willing to obtain)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with tax planning and compliance a plus
