Overview In this role, you will support finance and investment activities in the oil & gas sector, owning financial reporting, joint-venture and revenue accounting, and budgeting for upstream and midstream assets. You will work with operations and commercial teams to improve asset performance and ensure regulatory compliance and accurate financials. The position offers hands-on exposure to investment analysis, due diligence, and cross-functional processes in a private energy services firm. You will contribute to disciplined financial control and strategic decision-making that shapes asset development and growth.
Responsibilities- Prepare and submit regulatory filings (RRC, KCC)
- Track and analyze well production data, volumes, and performance
- Create internal summaries on production, asset performance, and operational activity
- Maintain records of well data, reporting timelines, and compliance requirements
- Support SWD operations, tracking disposal volumes and reporting requirements
- Review production data and reconcile revenue against production and ownership (with accounting)
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating new acquisitions by reviewing well data, production history, and asset performance
Key requirements- Bachelor in Accounting or Finance, CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
- 5+ years in oil & gas or energy sector accounting, including joint venture and revenue accounting
- Knowledge of oil & gas accounting topics (production accounting, JIB, lifts, royalties) and GAAP/ASC
- Financial modeling, investment analysis, and due diligence experience for energy assets
- Experience in a controller, senior accountant or similar role with financial reporting, internal controls, and audit coordination
- Advanced Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with technical, operations, and commercial stakeholders
