Overview

In this role you own the mechanical architecture and end-to-end design for custom Automated Test Equipment, ensuring prototypes flow smoothly into production. You will integrate rack assemblies, ITAs, and fixtures within the test consoles to support reliable manufacturing release. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead design reviews and documentation, shaping robust, scalable test solutions for defense applications. Responsibilities
  • Architect and detail rack assemblies, ITAs, cable assemblies, interface modules, interconnect diagrams, and BOMs
  • Design robust mounting, interconnect, and human interface test fixtures with emphasis on dimensioning and configuration management
  • Create precise 3D/2D models using Siemens NX and perform structural/thermal FEA validation with ANSYS
  • Manage formal design releases through product data management systems
  • Oversee hardware parts ordering/receipt, prepare technical presentations, and lead cross-functional design reviews
Key requirements
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in automated test equipment development and production release
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Test equipment console layout and ITA design
  • Advanced 2D/3D drafting
  • MIL/ASME standards and configuration management
  • Machining, fabrication processes, materials, and surface finishes
  • Thermal calculations and environmental mitigation management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoW Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
