Senior Director - Autonomous Labs Architect

Overview

In this role, you will define and govern the enterprise architecture and standards to scale autonomous, AI-enabled laboratory systems across Danaher. You'll establish interoperability across instruments, informatics, automation, data layers, and partner tech, guiding multi-year strategies and reusable enterprise capabilities. You'll partner with operating companies and external partners to drive alignment, adoption, and measurable business impact, while shaping product strategy and leading the company as a thought leader in autonomous labs.

Responsibilities
  • Define enterprise architecture, technology standards, and reusable patterns for autonomous labs across Danaher; ensure consistency, scalability, and guidance for future strategy
  • Establish interoperability and governance across instruments, informatics platforms, laboratory automation systems, robotics, data layers, AI agents, software platforms, and external partner tech
  • Translate enterprise strategy into scalable execution by partnering with operating companies, customers, strategic partners, and ecosystem participants
  • Guide system, software, workflow, and data architecture decisions to create reusable enterprise capabilities and patterns
  • Influence product strategy and commercial offerings while representing Danaher as a thought leader in autonomous laboratories
Key requirements
  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in systems architecture, digital labs, laboratory automation, or related disciplines
  • Proven experience defining and implementing enterprise architecture, standards, and governance models at scale
  • Experience partnering with external ecosystem participants (automation vendors, software providers, AI/compute platforms)
  • Product, platform, or architecture leadership experience balancing customer workflows, feasibility, and scalability
