Overview In this role you will lead the design and deployment of SCADA, EMS, and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects, guiding multi-site initiatives from concept through commissioning. You will work with the Energy team to deliver wind, solar, BESS, microgrid, and hyperscale data center generation projects, shaping integration architectures and operational strategies. You will collaborate with utilities, OEMs, and EPCs to meet safety, quality, and grid-compliance standards. This is a leadership-heavy, hands-on opportunity to influence how modern energy systems are controlled and optimized.

Responsibilities- Lead design, development, and implementation of SCADA and control systems for utility-scale projects (wind, solar, BESS, microgrids)
- Develop control narratives, sequences of operation, EMS functional specifications, and system design documentation
- Create SCADA/EMS architectures, communication diagrams, and integration drawings
- Define interface specifications between EMS, PPC, OEM equipment, and utility/plant control platforms
- Support reviews, integration testing, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting
- Develop advanced control strategies for dispatch, load management, grid support, and resiliency
- Lead project execution from concept to commissioning, ensuring on-time, quality delivery
- Act as primary technical interface with clients, utilities, OEMs, EPCs, and internal stakeholders
- Lead coordination meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops
- Manage technical risks and cross-functional coordination to achieve project objectives
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with interconnection requirements, grid codes, and cybersecurity considerations
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in electrical/controls/power engineering or related field
- 4+ years in SCADA, controls engineering, EMS, power systems, or related energy industries
- Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, BESS, microgrids, DER)
- Knowledge of industrial protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA)
- Familiarity with utility/industrial network architectures and design
- Experience developing control narratives, design specs, sequence of operations, and diagrams
- Strong understanding of SCADA/EMS, controls integration, and power system operations
- Ability to troubleshoot complex control and integration issues
- Strong verbal and written communication; client-facing experience
- Willingness to travel periodically to sites and facilities
