Overview

In this role you will lead and coordinate technical work on water and wastewater projects, acting as a bridge between project managers and staff. You'll ensure design accuracy, QA/QC adherence, and timely delivery while proposing innovative solutions. You'll support client meetings, prepare proposals, and contribute to training and mentoring. This is a hands-on position that impacts community water stewardship and project success through technical excellence and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary technical liaison between project manager and staff and oversee completion of technical elements
  • Provide technical assistance and supervision in preparing proposals, EOIs, and contracts
  • Maintain knowledge of design standards, regulatory programs, and field practices, ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Foster innovative concepts in design and proposal development
  • Assist PM with client/agency meetings and develop multimedia support materials
  • Develop competencies in communication, software tools, and field techniques for project execution
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC policies and review project schedules and budgets
  • Act as a subject matter expert and participate in industry conferences as a presenter
  • Conduct in-house technical training and lead team meetings
  • Review construction plans for large or complex projects
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 10-12+ years in related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other related software
  • Strong English reading/writing and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn, apply, and teach technical skills
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and research skills
  • Ability to serve as a technical resource in advanced engineering principles
