Overview In this role you will design and implement body controls firmware for vehicle systems, from prototype bring-up to production. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable control software for seats, closures, lighting, and other small motors, aligning with safety and performance goals. You'll develop control and estimation algorithms, participate in functional safety analyses, and drive test planning and automation for unit, SIL, and HIL tests. This position offers hands-on hardware bring-up, cross-team collaboration, and impact across vehicle domains.

Responsibilities- Specify and implement software architecture for body controls firmware from prototype to production
- Create control and estimation algorithms for body control features such as window control and lighting
- Lead design and integration of body control hardware on test assets and in vehicles
- Collaborate with software integration to align core functions with hardware and systems teams
- Understand and participate in functional safety analyses for subsystems
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans validating firmware under various conditions
- Drive feature development with cross-functional teams and validate boundary diagrams and strategies
- Lead early firmware phases focusing on hardware validation, labcar testing, and automation framework setup for unit, SIL, and HIL testing
Key requirements- 3+ years of C for real-time embedded systems with MISRA C guidance
- Hands-on RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, OSEK/AUTOSAR) and bare-metal environments
- Strong low-level debugging, hardware bring-up, and optimization for timing and memory
- 3+ years with electrical hardware applications, prototype bring-up, and systems development
- 3+ years with Vehicle Network Protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
- Experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators)
- 3+ years using embedded networking tools in automotive/aerospace contexts
- Experience with functional safety, OBD calibration, diagnostics, and system development
- Experience creating and executing component-level tests and managing results
