Overview As a Mechanical Engineer on the High Voltage Charging and Distribution team, you design state-of-the-art HV products across Lucid platforms and tackle challenges in HV distribution assemblies. You own in-house HV connector designs, optimize HV harness routing, and translate concepts into production-ready solutions. You work in a multidisciplinary environment to integrate mechanical designs with electrical systems, delivering durable, cost-efficient, and compact HV solutions. This role offers the chance to push the envelope in luxury EV technology and impact vehicle performance and safety. Responsibilities- Take ownership of in-house HV connector designs and routing/optimization of HV harnesses for next-generation platforms
- From concept to production, ensure successful implementation of HV components
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D GD&T controlled drawings for intricate assemblies
- Integrate mechanical designs with high voltage electrical systems in a multidisciplinary setting
- Analyze and optimize designs for size, weight, durability, and cost
- Demonstrate engineering first-principles in new applications
- Exhibit creative problem-solving and attention to detail
Key requirements- 3-6 years of relevant experience (flexible with strong ability)
- Solid mechanical engineering fundamentals
- CAD proficiency (3DX/CATIA highly beneficial)
- FEA experience (e.g., ANSYS or similar)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting)
- Experience with root cause corrective action processes
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills in cross-functional environments
- Preferred: automotive engineering experience, power electronics, and HV design considerations
