Responsibilities- Determine specimen acceptability according to criteria
- Perform routine and complex testing per SOPs
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instruments
- Make technical testing decisions and solve problems
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate test results to support patient care
- Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
- Replenish testing bench supplies as needed
- Assist with processing of specimens
- Maintain a safe work environment and PPE usage
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in related science or MLS degree
- 1 year or more clinical laboratory testing experience in Microbiology OR MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficient with computers and LIS familiarity
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
- Experience in high-volume laboratory environments
- Ability to pass color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts
