Overview

In this role you will design and deliver electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities, supporting projects from design through construction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with codes while driving reliable, cost-effective solutions. The position offers exposure to municipal, federal, and private-sector projects and opportunities to grow within a values-driven firm. This is a hands-on role at a regional engineering practice with a focus on impact and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems for water and wastewater plants and pump stations (power, lighting, generator, controls)
  • Analyze existing electrical systems to propose improvements and expansions
  • Support projects through all phases from pre-proposal to construction
  • Prepare and review electrical design calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Witness on-site electrical testing and startup activities
  • Perform quality control to ensure code compliance and technical accuracy
  • Coordinate tasks to align with project schedules and budgets
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and subcontractors
  • Travel to project sites as needed
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Professional Engineer license in TX, GA, NC or FL
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience
  • Experience supporting all design phases from pre-proposal through construction
  • Experience working with clients and subcontractors
  • Knowledge of construction documents
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NESC and NFPA 820
  • Experience with power system analysis (short circuit, motor starting, load flow)
  • Ability to travel as required
