Overview In this role you will lead environmental permitting and assessment efforts across the Gulf region, helping clients navigate regulatory approvals and site-specific challenges. You'll guide multi-disciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure high-quality project delivery. The work spans wetlands, species habitat, NEPA, and siting studies for energy, transportation, and development projects, contributing to sustainable outcomes. You'll collaborate with regulators, stakeholders, and field teams to drive timely, compliant solutions. Responsibilities- Support projects and key client relationships in natural gas, LNG, solar, development, and infrastructure projects
- Lead teams conducting wetlands delineations, species habitat characterization, land use mapping, and other natural resource surveys
- Coordinate agency communications, oversee technical assessments, and guide project teams to successful execution
- Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks, and ensure scope compliance and timely completion
- Establish and maintain quality assurance and safety plans for assigned projects
- Mentor early career staff with potential for direct supervision
Key requirements- Thorough understanding of environmental impact analysis methods and NEPA requirements (CWA 401, 402, 404)
- Solid knowledge of environmental compliance for infrastructure (transportation, renewable energy, oil/gas)
- Working knowledge of agencies (USACE, USFWS, BIA, BLM, SDNR/DEP/DEQ/DOT, FERC, FHWA, FAA)
- Demonstrated QA/QC practices and ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong collaborative problem-solving and leadership capabilities
- Willingness to travel up to 75% and possibly stay in the field
- Valid state driver's license and good driving record
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science or related field
- 3-5 years' experience leading delineations in the Gulf Region (TX, OK, LA, MS, AR)
- Local, state, and federal permitting experience a plus
- PWS or similar certification a plus
