Overview In this role you will lead morning newscasts as a multiskilled journalist, delivering clear, engaging content across TV, digital, and app platforms. You will write, edit, and present stories with journalistic integrity, acting as a field reporter or anchor as assigned. You will respond swiftly to breaking news and engage with viewers on social media, while mentoring others and contributing to promotional activities. This position blends leadership, storytelling, and cross platform production to inform the Springfield community.
Responsibilities- Present news stories across linear, digital, CTV App, and social platforms
- Write and produce content for multiple channels
- Maintain high standards of journalistic integrity and production quality
- Serve as field reporter or field anchor as assigned
- Respond to breaking news and urgent newsroom situations
- Engage with viewers on social media and participate in promotions
- Edit video clips and support special projects as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field; or equivalent experience
- Fluency in English
- Minimum five years' experience in news reporting or anchoring
- Excellent oral and written communication; ability to ad lib
- Superior on air presence and strong news judgment
- Experience guiding, directing, and motivating others; coaching or mentoring
- Proficiency with newsroom technology and general office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and work under pressure
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
