Overview

As Electric Utility Project Manager in Exponent's Construction Consulting Practice, you lead large transmission projects from pre-construction through close-out, delivering on time and within budget. You will work within a cross-functional team to plan, control costs, and manage risk, ensuring regulatory and environmental requirements are met. You help drive project decisions, coordinate with utility, engineering, and contractor stakeholders, and report progress to executives. Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and manage projects to meet schedule, cost, and scope
  • Develop schedules, budgets, and risk management plans
  • Manage schedule and cost performance and financial forecasting
  • Perform change control and implement risk mitigations
  • Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders (utility, engineers, contractors, regulatory agencies, environmental, land and permitting, legal, procurement, construction)
  • Oversee project cost and schedule control and contractor performance
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Prepare and provide reporting to stakeholders and executives
Key requirements
  • 8+ years in electric utility industry or heavy industrial fields with in-project/construction management, engineering management, risk management, or contractor management
  • Strong experience in construction project management and project controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and develop well-thought-out plans
  • Ability to manage multiple scopes and tasks simultaneously
  • Adaptability to dynamic team environment
  • Ability to interact effectively with external clients and internal colleagues
  • Preferred: successful client management track record
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office tools
