Overview In this role you drive land survey programs within an assigned territory, acting as the SME and lead for survey tasks across internal teams and external vendors. You will review work, manage vendor deliverables and invoices, and guide surveying activities through project meetings and status updates. You provide technical leadership, training, and accurate boundary and rights-of-way work, while aligning with safety and regulatory standards. This position combines hands-on field oversight with strategic project coordination in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities- Coordinate all survey-related work within the territory, including internal staff and external vendors
- Review vendor work and approve invoices with higher-level approval authority
- Provide direction and training on utility-specific surveying to vendors
- Prepare RFPs, select and hire survey vendors, and ensure work aligns with scope, budget, and schedule
- Assess survey requests to allocate resources efficiently
- Serve as primary contact for internal and external customers and provide project status updates
- Perform calculations, field and office tasks to locate property boundaries and rights of way
- Retain documentation and vendor deliverables for recoverability
- Act as SME to peers and business partners
- Conduct limited Real Estate tasks including field investigations and reporting
Key requirements- Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive field and office surveying experience
- Licensed Land Surveyor preferred
- Valid driver's license required
- AutoCAD experience required; Civil 3D preferred
- Experience with Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS equipment and related software
- Knowledge of surveying principles, civil engineering concepts, and property law basics
- Understanding of state statutes governing surveying and mapping (MA)
