Overview As Manufacturing Engineer - Mechanical, you will support mechanical assembly and testing operations, driving continuous improvement, quality, and operational excellence. Responsibilities- Provide hands-on support across machining, assembly, fabrication, testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of mechanical products/processes
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions for non-conforming materials/products
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce costs, boost quality, increase throughput, and shorten lead times
- Develop, qualify, and optimize manufacturing processes for existing products andNew Product Introductions (NPI)
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, and process controls to enhance safety, quality, and productivity
- Collaborate with Design Engineering on DFM/DFA for smooth production transitions
- Engage with suppliers to improve capability, quality, and delivery reliability; support supplier qualification
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation (work instructions, SOPs, process specs, routings)
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, Shainin, and related methods to eliminate waste
- Use data analysis and statistics to monitor process capability, identify trends, and drive improvements
- Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards; promote operational excellence
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Suppliers
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years in manufacturing/production engineering or continuous improvement
- Understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, testing, fabrication, inspection)
- Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and BOMs
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA and product lifecycle concepts
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving
- Experience with Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Shainin or equivalent CI methodologies
- Familiarity with quality management systems and manufacturing quality standards
- Strong cross-functional communication across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Suppliers
- MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience supporting mechanical product manufacturing from prototype to production; pursuing process improvements
- Experience with NPI projects and transitioning products to manufacturing
- Ability to identify and implement assembly fixtures, tooling, and process controls
- Experience working with suppliers to qualify processes and improve performance
