Overview In this role you apply power system protection concepts and SEL products to deliver complex automation and protection projects. You will train customers, design and validate systems, and produce detailed design documents while upholding SEL values and manufacturing standards. You'll lead project tasks within scope, schedule, and budget, driving quality and safety. This position offers hands-on impact in protecting and automating electric power networks within a collaborative, employee-owned company.

Responsibilities- Apply power system protection concepts to SEL products and related automation tasks
- Train and assist customers in design, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of protection systems
- Deliver work within scope, schedule and budget with high quality and safety
- Prepare functional design specifications and maintain design documents and test deliverables
- Adhere to SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles
- Contribute to continuous improvement through problem-solving and simplification
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
- 2+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems and protection/automation
- Knowledge of power system protection and control, integration and/or automation and communications applications
- Working knowledge of power system design, ICT and protective relay applications
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25%
- Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team
- Background check satisfactory to SEL
