Lead Data Center Controls Engineer - Power Systems

Overview

In this role you will lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of power protection and control solutions for hyperscale and MTDC data centers. You'll work across engineering, project management, and operations to deliver reliable, scalable automation for data center power systems. The position emphasizes leadership, standardization, and customer-focused execution to support growth and critical infrastructure. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with a strong impact on system reliability and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end data center power control projects (design, engineering, software development, simulation, factory and site testing, and emergency support).
  • Drive project planning with PMs and engineering teams to produce schedules, resource plans, functional design documents, sequences of operation, IO lists, and network architecture.
  • Provide technical and organizational leadership by assigning work, ensuring documentation quality, and maintaining project records on PSC SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with Negotiation Application Engineers on proposals and with Operations leaders to ensure resource availability, training, and project execution capability.
  • Lead standardization efforts, establish design and execution best practices, mentor new engineers, and provide performance feedback to project teams.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7+ years of controls experience in power distribution applications OR Master's in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Willingness to travel 30%
  • Current, unrestricted driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record; background check on hire.
