Overview In this role you will lead the electrical design and virtual design teams to deliver constructible, code-compliant electrical designs for nationwide projects. You'll guide preconstruction and design phases, aligning technical output with the company's design-build execution model and BIM standards. You will drive design quality, coordination, and value engineering while mentoring engineers and VDC specialists. Responsibilities- Lead and develop Electrical Design Engineers and Virtual Designers across the region
- Oversee workload planning, staffing, performance, and professional development; manage onboarding and career progression
- Establish and improve engineering standards, procedures, and best practices; foster accountability, collaboration, and innovation
- Provide technical leadership on electrical system design, constructability, and design reviews across preconstruction and design phases
- Direct BIM coordination with architects, engineers, and MEP partners; ensure BIM execution plans and install-ready drawings
- Champion value engineering and cost-saving opportunities within design solutions
- Collaborate with project managers, field leadership, consultants, and customers to align design intent with execution strategy
- Review contracts, scopes, specifications, and jurisdictional requirements to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
- Support bid-build evaluations, plans & specs review, and timely delivery of design and coordination packages
- Guide operations and field teams with technical guidance throughout project lifecycles
Key requirements- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- Revit Certification or 2+ years of relevant professional experience
- 2+ years electrical construction or design experience; experience with Virtual Design career development path preferred
- Experience supervising or managing teams within an Electrical Contractor environment preferred
- Strong NEC knowledge; familiarity with IBC, IECC, and life safety codes
- Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud/Forma, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead design reviews and technical discussions
