Overview In this role you will lead a civil engineering team focused on land development across Colorado. You'll own projects from concept to completion, collaborating with municipalities and review agencies to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions. You drive technical quality, mentorship, and project delivery while supporting firm growth and leadership development. This position combines hands-on design with client-facing responsibilities in a well-established Colorado firm.

Responsibilities- Lead a team of 2-6 engineers and designers, managing workload, priorities, and deliverables
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers and Design Engineers with feedback and hands-on direction
- Conduct performance reviews and evaluate staff capabilities
- Maintain team utilization targets and overall technical performance
- Sign and seal drawings prepared under supervision
- Lead projects or major portions of projects as Production Lead
- Review plans, estimates, calculations, models, and reports for accuracy and quality
- Manage project budgets and schedules, identify bottlenecks, drive improvements
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Serve as professional point of contact in client meetings and communications
- Build and maintain relationships with city, county, and regulatory agency professionals
- Support proposal preparation and additional services documentation
Key requirements- 5+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development
- Strong technical expertise in grading, drainage, utilities, and site design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Colorado PE License (preferred)
- Experience reviewing construction plans, cost estimates, calculations, and reports for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
