Overview In this Lead Electrical Engineer role, you will guide the design and execution of electrical building systems for diverse projects within the Property & Buildings team. You'll work across multi-site due diligence, design, permitting, and construction, ensuring compliance and high-quality outcomes. You'll mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges. Responsibilities- Develop and review electrical design deliverables (single line diagrams, grounding, lightning protection) in line with NEC/CEC and permits
- Lead junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and ensure QA/QC adherence
- Create electrical calculations for loads, short-circuit studies, and device coordination
- Coordinate with owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients on plans and layouts
- Prepare technical reports, data visualizations, and presentations of findings and recommendations
- Support cross-functional project delivery, budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory compliance
- Engage with regulatory agencies, vendors, and clients to build relationships and secure work
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical engineering practices and tools (Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, SKM/Dapper, AGI32, Bluebeam)
- Assist in business development by identifying opportunities and providing technical input for proposals
- Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers and monitor staffing allocations
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
- 7-10 years of post-education electrical design experience
- Professional Engineer license
- Extensive knowledge of building electrical infrastructure design and related disciplines
- Experience with renovation and new construction projects and regulatory compliance
- Strong technical computation, plan interpretation, and design coordination skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with both engineering and non-engineering audiences
- Proven ability to work independently, lead teams, and manage QA/QC
- Proficiency with design software (Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, SKM/Dapper, AGI32, Bluebeam) and data analysis tools
- Willingness to travel as needed
- LEED certification (preferred)
- Client portfolio or regional business development experience (preferred)
