Overview As a Mechanical Engineer, you support mill safety, reliability, quality, and project execution across assigned mechanical areas. You will provide technical support to maintenance, operations, and contractors, improving maintenance programs and equipment reliability. You'll plan and execute outages and capital projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, on-time results. This role offers impact through reliability improvements, cost awareness, and hands-on problem solving within a paper mill environment.
Responsibilities- Support safety, environmental, quality, and reliability expectations across mechanical maintenance areas.
- Provide technical support to maintenance, operations, and contractors for reliability issues.
- Develop and improve preventive/predictive maintenance programs, equipment tracking, and spare parts planning.
- Plan, coordinate, troubleshoot, and train for outage work; manage contractors.
- Use root cause analysis and maintenance data to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Coordinate capital projects from scope through completion, including schedules and startup plans.
- Collaborate across maintenance, operations, engineering, purchasing, and external resources to deliver safe, on-time projects.
Key requirements- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
- 0-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project
- Preferred: familiarity with instrumentation and controls systems
- Preferred: experience in paper industry or related co-ops/internships
