Overview As a licensed electrical engineer in our water sector, you will design and specify electrical systems for diverse, mission-critical water/wastewater projects. You will act as Engineer-of-Record where required, guiding design from sketches to construction documentation and coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams. You'll apply NEC, Title 24, and industry standards to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient power, control, and lighting solutions. Responsibilities- Evaluate, select, specify, and review electrical system shop drawings for a project.
- Develop designs through sketches, models, diagrams, and visual formats.
- Create three-dimensional models of electrical systems.
- Prepare and revise design/construction documentation including plans, single-line diagrams, ladder schematics, and equipment layouts.
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in client requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
- Prepare project specifications and coordinate with construction documents.
- Review field conditions and conduct construction phase services, RFIs, and conformance checks.
Key requirements- Knowledge of industry standards and electrical/building codes (NEC, Title 24).
- Strong understanding of project document production and the drawings-specifications relationship in municipal water/wastewater.
- Experience with electrical systems knowledge and related standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration within project teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation; familiarity with Revit is a plus.
- Experience with ETAP and/or SKM PowerTools is an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Licensed Professional Engineer; minimum 7 years of experience.
