Overview In this role you will lead and execute power system protection projects across a range of sizes and voltage classes. You will develop plans, evaluate feasibility, and coordinate studies to support protective schemes for transmission, distribution, and renewable resources. You will act as a primary client-facing technical lead, guide project teams, and mentor junior engineers, contributing to the grid's resiliency, reliability, and economic operation. Responsibilities- Perform power system studies and protection settings coordination up to 500-kV.
- Develop protective design basis documentation and generate native relay configuration files.
- Provide technical guidance, conduct design reviews, and support quality control.
- Serve as primary client contact and assist PM with scope and conceptual design.
- Train, guide, and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives.
Key requirements- Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3 years of experience in electrical systems studies; Master's degree with 2 years of related experience in lieu of bachelor's degree with 3 years of related experience (acceptable).
- Knowledge of protection schemes for transmission, distribution, and renewable substations.
- Experience with power system modeling and protective relay coordination using ASPEN OneLiner, Siemens CAPE, ETAP, SKM, or CYME.
- Experience developing native relay setting files using SEL AcSELerator/Grid configurator and GE Enervista.
- Understanding of FERC/NERC requirements and IEC61850 is a plus.
