Overview As an EHS Manager you lead and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety programs at a chemical manufacturing site. You collaborate with Global EHS, Quality, Operations, and Plant leadership to reduce risk and embed safety and sustainability culture. The role focuses on proactive risk reduction, compliance excellence, and driving improvements across EHS systems and initiatives. You'll align local practices with global standards and KPIs, delivering measurable safety and environmental outcomes. Responsibilities- Serve as site owner of EHS governance, compliance programs, and performance standards
- Define and maintain site-level EHS governance aligned with global standards
- Establish and enforce EHS policies and procedures
- Integrate EHS risks into site and enterprise risk management
- Lead regulatory compliance and EHS standards
- Ensure environmental compliance including air permits, hazardous waste, stormwater, and reporting
- Oversee OSHA compliance, safety management systems, contractor safety, and permit-to-work
- Manage process safety elements such as PRA, MOC, and pre-startup reviews
- Oversee incident investigations with root-cause analysis and CAPA
- Track EHS KPIs, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement
- Develop and manage EHS budgets and capital projects
- Ensure staffing, training, and capability development
Key requirements- 7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing (chemical industry preferred)
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, RCRA, and environmental regulations
- Proven experience managing EHS programs and audits
- Experience with incident investigation and risk mitigation
- Ability to influence across all levels of the organization
- Experience with sustainability platforms (e.g., Greenly, EcoVadis) preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Preferred Certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or CIH
