Senior Staff Mechanical Systems Integration Engineer

Overview

As a key member of the SEIT team, you will lead mechanical systems integration for a next-gen MILSATCOM platform, shaping interfaces, requirements, and trade studies. You'll work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure robust, test-ready hardware deliverables. This role focuses on resolving integration challenges, driving efficiency in build and test, and advancing space capabilities with disciplined systems thinking. You will contribute to a mission-driven program that advances secure, resilient space systems.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as integration lead for different mechanical subsystems
  • Lead the definition of mechanical system interfaces
  • Support requirements decomposition and allocation with the Requirements team
  • Drive anomaly investigations to closure
  • Lead definition, analysis, and recommendation of trade study options for mechanical systems
  • Perform data and document reviews and provide feedback for technical and program documentation
  • Support systems/hardware integration, test planning and execution, seeking build flow and test efficiency opportunities
Key requirements
  • Missile or space segment architecture, design, assembly, integration, and test experience across subsystems
  • Spacecraft integration expertise across multiple subsystems
  • Technical leadership experience and drive-to-closure capabilities
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering and mission assurance fundamentals for high-reliability space systems
  • Creo CAD modeling and CAD control experience with ability to read mechanical drawings
  • Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning expertise
  • Experience with mechanical analysis tools (Creo, CreoView, MathCAD)
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance (US Citizenship required)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-directed and independent work style
  • Ability to train others in systems thinking and problem solving
