Overview As Director of Cyber Architecture & Engineering, you will shape KPMG's security strategy and enable business objectives through risk-aware architecture. You'll lead secure designs for cloud, AI, and applications, partnering across technology teams to standardize and enable secure platforms. You'll guide security controls, design patterns, and cloud vendor engagements to inform risk assessments and secure architectures. You'll also mentor security professionals, influence leaders, and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of the firm's security strategy aligned with business objectives
- Oversee secure design of enterprise platforms across cloud, AI, and application ecosystems
- Manage vendor relationships with public and private cloud providers; advocate enhancements to meet firm needs
- Provide guidance on security controls, baselines, and design patterns for risk-aware architectures
- Offer technical and thought leadership on emerging security technologies (AI, cloud security)
- Participate in internal focus groups to integrate security into new technologies (Generative AI, AI-powered workflows) and develop business cases for senior IT leadership
- Coach and mentor security professionals; may lead a small-to-mid sized team and contribute to workforce planning
- Maintain integrity and uphold a respectful, professional work environment
Key requirements- Minimum ten years of security architecture experience with leadership in architecture teams
- Bachelor's degree preferred; or 10 years of equivalent professional experience
- CISSP and either CCSP or CCSK (or equivalent); other relevant: AZ-500, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, AWS Solutions Architect
- Experience designing and securing solutions in complex regulated enterprises (cloud, AI-enabled, integrated platforms)
- Expert-level understanding of cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, containerization) and secure development lifecycle
- Ability to translate technical concepts for senior leaders; strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
