Overview In this role you will serve as the primary technical advisor for a major account, shaping industrial hygiene and safety engineering strategy and driving risk reduction. You will lead data-driven hazard assessments, design and evaluate controls, and support capital projects with IH/engineering principles early in planning. The position blends program development with on-site services to deepen understanding of operations and culture. You will travel up to 35% to sites, delivering strategic insights and value to stakeholders.

Responsibilities- Act as primary contact for IH and safety engineering initiatives on a large account, providing strategic guidance and technical leadership
- Develop and implement IH and safety engineering strategies to continuously improve hazards and emerging risks
- Lead hazard identification, exposure assessment, and risk prioritization across operations using data-driven methods
- Evaluate controls for IH, safety, and engineering against federal, state, and consensus standards
- Assess advanced material handling, robotics, and automation for compliance with ANSI, ISO, and safety standards
- Identify and mitigate risks related to robotic/automated systems (electrical hazards, LOTO, struck-by, ergonomic risks, etc.)
- Conduct onsite evaluations, analyze data, and formulate actionable recommendations to reduce exposures
- Support facility modernization and capital projects by integrating IH/safety engineering early in design
- Produce clear, executive-ready reports communicating risk, trends, and value
- Develop and track KPIs to demonstrate impact and drive improvement
- Coach, mentor, and train colleagues and customer partners
- Contribute to tools, procedures, guidance, and best practices to enhance service delivery
- Enhance organizational leadership in IH and safety engineering through engagement and thought leadership
- Lead projects or defined scopes within larger initiatives and support cross-functional collaboration
Key requirements- Bachelor in Industrial Hygiene
- Advanced degree and/or professional certifications (CIH, CPE, CSP) preferred
- 10+ years of directly related consulting experience in risk control, IH, or safety/health
- Strong planning, risk analysis, and progress measurement capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects across locations and influence executives
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities
- Ability to use proprietary software and AI tools
- Practical knowledge of IH sampling methods and regulatory exposure limits
- Experience with carbon monoxide, ethylene oxide, noise, heat stress, hexavalent chromium/isocyanates, painting booth environments, welding fumes, ergonomic hazards, lighting, and vibration
