Overview

As a Legal Project Manager, you will guide high-priority matters through all lifecycle stages, collaborating with legal teams and analysts on budgeting, planning, and process improvements. You'll embed with the legal team to address needs, drive efficient matter delivery, and support change initiatives. The role includes developing and deploying firmwide training on legal project management and coordinating with cross-functional partners. This position offers visibility across matter lifecycles and the chance to shape how the firm delivers complex legal work.

Responsibilities
  • Manage matters through scoping, budgeting, planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation using project management techniques
  • Provide on-demand support at specific lifecycle phases of matters
  • Embed with the legal team to understand needs and drive solution-oriented outcomes
  • Collaborate with Matter Planning Analysts on budgeting using historical data and key metrics
  • Coordinate with practice leadership and HR on resource allocation and development
  • Develop and deploy firmwide training on Legal Project Management
  • Support training and implementation of project management technology
  • Liaise with client internal legal operations as needed
Key requirements
  • 5 or more years within law, consulting, or project management
  • Master's degree or J.D. preferred
  • Experience translating PM methodology to a legal setting
  • Formal project management certification preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, and similar technology
  • Experience in training, influencing, and change management a plus
