Overview In this role you will oversee daily landfill operations to meet safety, environmental and efficiency standards. You work with a team of peers and external vendors to drive operational excellence at the Superior Landfill. You will manage permitting, leachate/gas control, and budget processes while maintaining community relations and compliance with WM's Mission to Zero. The position offers a hands-on leadership role with a clear impact on throughput, safety, and cost efficiency. Responsibilities- Oversee smooth landfill operations including construction, permitting, and gas management
- Minimize costs while maximizing productivity and ensuring safety and environmental compliance
- Reduce truck turnaround times and accurately track waste volume/weight
- Liaise with community stakeholders as needed
- Monitor permitting issues and ensure adherence to Mission to Zero
- Meet financial review dates and corporate programs
- Lead personnel management: hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and development
- Assist budgeting processes and maintain site cleanliness and preventive maintenance
- Conduct or participate in safety meetings and provide training
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree
- High School Diploma or GED with four years of relevant experience
- Seven years of relevant work experience
- Three years landfill management experience (preferred)
