Overview In this role you lead second-line oversight of Life-model risk, partnering with business leaders and risk committees to ensure models are fit for purpose. You will drive methodological improvements, govern modeling practices, and advance the model risk framework across Life actuarial uses. You collaborate with cross-domain experts to understand business impact and stay current on regulatory and technology developments. Responsibilities- Lead comprehensive reviews of Life models and provide actionable recommendations to owners and risk committees
- Elevate methodologies and assumptions by challenging practices and driving improvements to manage risk
- Provide guidance on efficient modeling techniques and governance to strengthen model risk management
- Collaborate with cross-domain experts to understand business impact and advance the model risk framework
- Stay current on emerging practices, techniques, technologies, and regulatory developments
Key requirements- 8+ years of actuarial experience with an FSA designation
- Deep experience in Life products across actuarial modeling, financial reporting, forecasting, pricing, or economic valuation
- Ability to challenge technical work constructively and influence senior leaders and technical teams
- Experience reviewing, validating, developing, or testing complex actuarial models
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain modeling issues in business terms
