Overview In this role you will lead a manufacturing team at the Manning, SC site to enable machining, assembly, and component production for nuclear outage projects and engineering development. You will align shop activities with safety, quality, and schedule targets while collaborating with cross-functional partners. The position emphasizes strong leadership, cost control, and continuous improvement to support mission-critical nuclear work. This is an onsite, day-shift role with occasional flexible hours for special projects.

Responsibilities- Lead and manage machining (CNC and manual) and assembly activities to meet nuclear industry standards
- Plan and implement a manufacturing schedule for outage project support
- Allocate work, establish procedures, and pursue improvements in methods, equipment, and conditions for safety, quality, delivery, cost
- Organize resources through meetings and communications; oversee shop performance and productivity
- Manage training, personnel development, and skill assessment; ensure workforce depth
- Monitor budget, make make-vs-buy and labor decisions, and control costs
- Track material and labor costs; use cost-tracking tools to inform bidding and project reporting
- Oversee vendor selection for outsourced work and monitor capital equipment maintenance and upgrades
- Assess capabilities, implement improvements, and establish planning standards for resources, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Foster a safety and quality culture; ensure regulatory and quality requirements are met and train staff
- Set performance goals aligned with company objectives and lead with safety
- Identify task requirements and ensure appropriate skill levels through training matrices
- Initiate corrective actions and collaborate to optimize production, inspection, and shipment processes
Key requirements- 7 years of manufacturing, fabrication, and production experience
- Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing-related field
- Nuclear and quality experience preferred
- Ability to work onsite five days a week plus potential for occasional shift or off-hours support
