Overview

In this role you help shape Sony's AI governance framework and risk management, working with Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to ensure responsible AI adoption. You'll analyze AI-related legal risks, track policy developments, and translate complex requirements into practical guidance for cross-functional stakeholders. This position supports global governance initiatives and governance resources across Sony Group. You will drive strategic insights and contribute to policy materials and executive briefings that support responsible innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of Sony's AI governance framework and risk management processes
  • Conduct legal and regulatory analysis related to AI (IP, consumer protection, product liability, privacy, AI ethics)
  • Review AI use cases to identify governance and ethical risks
  • Draft memos, policies, governance artifacts, training materials, presentations, and stakeholder communications
  • Monitor and analyze global AI-related legal and regulatory developments
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate legal requirements into practical business guidance
  • Support governance forums, workshops, executive briefings, AI literacy, and strategic initiatives
  • Maintain governance documentation, templates, playbooks, and knowledge resources
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience in law firm, in-house, government, or combination
  • Experience advising on technology-related legal matters
  • Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
